How firm is the Plank Firm Luxe?

On a scale of 1 to 10, the firm side of the Plank Firm Luxe mattress ranges between 7.5-8. This ranking is deemed a traditional firm mattress. The ultra-firm side ranges between 9.5-10—meaning it’s one of the firmest, flattest sleep surfaces on the market but features more contouring than the original Plank Firm version.

What are the cooling features available for the Plank Firm Luxe?

First, the Plank Firm Luxe features a breathable quilted top on either side of the mattress, coupled with open cell technology throughout the foam layers, to help ensure a neutral temperature environment. Second, the Plank Firm Luxe mattress is constructed with individually encased coils, which allow for greater airflow.

For even greater temperature moderation, a GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover can be sewn into the Plank Firm Luxe mattress as an optional feature—just look for the "Add Glaciotex™ Cooling Cover” option on the right side of the product page when making your selection. Once you add this feature to your mattress, the cooling top panel will be sewn into the surface of the mattress to deliver ultimate cooling on contact.

The GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover is an optional feature that does not impact the comfort, firmness level, or support of the Plank Firm Luxe mattress.

How much does the Plank Firm Luxe weigh and what are it's dimensions?

What type of foundation works best for this mattress?

Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are designed to be used on foundations with solid support with minimal to no flex. This includes slatted wood or metal foundations with slats no more than 5" apart, wood or metal box foundations, and solid wood or metal platforms. If you need a foundation for your new mattress, check out our foundations specifically designed for Brooklyn Bedding mattresses here.

How does the 120-night trial period work?

If during your 120-night sleep trial (which begins once you receive your new mattress), you decide that you are not completely happy with your mattress and wish to return it, we will help dispose of your mattress and help you begin your return. 

Please allow 30 days to laps from the date of delivery before beginning the return process.

Customers are able to make use of this 120-night comfort trial on one occasion. The second occasion is not eligible for a return.

Please note: there is a $99 return fee for all mattress returns to cover the cost of picking up your mattress. We do our very best to donate, recycle, or otherwise repurpose all returned mattresses.

What differentiates the Plank Firm from the Plank Firm Luxe by Brooklyn Bedding?

The Plank Firm by Brooklyn Bedding is an all-foam mattress—and the firmest sleep experience on the market. (Next level firmness could only be achieved by eliminating the mattress altogether and sleeping directly on the floor.) Meanwhile, the Plank Firm Luxe by Brooklyn Bedding is constructed with added foam layers and individually encased coils to deliver greater pressure point relief and responsiveness. Both mattresses are flippable, which allows you to choose between a firm and extra-firm side. Many customers with a sleep partner do opt for the Plank Firm Luxe to ensure a more comfortable sleep experience for both individuals.

"74 years young 210lbs, never thought a thousand dollar mattress would work for me. This mattress made a believer out of me. Today is day 118 and I checked the mattress with a level and no sags at all. Sleeping great and that is what is what counts, returned a three thousand dollar mattress to another company that gave me back pain. "First off, love that they could get an innerspring mattress into a box. It made it easier to drag up 7 flights of stairs. I can't imagine doing it fully expanded. 😨 I'm sleeping on the Extra Firm side (I think, 💎 pattern = extra firm) and let me tell you, my back hasn't felt this good since I was a teenager. I'm a stomach sleeper and it's sheer bliss(I also lost weight so that helps too). I don't sink into the bed. Surprisingly enough, I can fall asleep on my side and EVEN MY BACK 🫢. I can never fall asleep in my back. . . . Can this be magic? The cooling mattress protector. . . . OMG I've never been able to sleep in a room at 78°F with a blanket and only a fan blowing. I would be in a puddle the whole night. Not with this mattress. New achievement unlocked! The cooling gel works. It really does move the heat away from you. All you need is a fan to move air past it and you got yourself an "air conditioned bed". Very pleased since I've always looked cooler temps because of the hot sleeping. So far I love everything about it. The only thing I can't rate is durability. My last mattress developed a hole where I slept after 1. 5 years. I wanted a hybrid this time hoping it will last longer than 5 years and not torture me along the way. I have hopes for this mattress. It's solid, it's heavy, its well built and double sided. If one side wears out, in theory, I should be able to flip it to get a new mattress."

"I love this mattress! I was waking up with back pain constantly but was leery of ultra firm mattresses. I did not need to be worried because this is the best mattress I have ever had. It's firm but yet still is soft and supportive where I need it. I've had it for about two weeks now and NO back pain in the mornings!
